Banners

Black and White Banners

• Black and white banners can be copied economically
• Easily enlarged from standard hard copy A4 or A3 sheets
• On to long white paper from a roll (914mm wide x several metres long)
• Some coloured papers also available

Colour Banners

• Full colour banners printed from disk
• Printed from wide format inkjet. (1.5 metres wide)
• Printing on paper from roll allowing varying lengths
• High saturation vibrant colour
• We specialise in banners and posters for inside use

Big Colour Copies

• Colour copying from hard copy. Up to 914mm wide and several metres long.
• Enlargement and reduction.
• Items on thick backing board up to 16mm thick can be copied but frames must be removed from pictures.
• Copying of thicker items using our A2 size flatbed scanner
• Printing on the world's first wide format colour copier

• The most common type of plastic binding
• Sometimes called spiral binding
• Leaves can be added and removed
• We carry a wide range of colours although stock levels do fluctuate and the less popular colours and sizes may have to be bought in,

• Clear acetate and card for front & back in stock, also frosted acetate

Binding - Fast Back®& Online Tape

• A quick way to bind a document
• Similar to tape bind but done by machine & looks professional
• "Online" is automatically bound as part of the printing process
• Fast Back® offers a large range of colours and sizes
• Fastback can also include stapling
• Both Online Tape & Fastback® produce similar results
• Contact us about the most suitable method for your document

Binding - Folders

• Documents can be drilled and fitted to folders
• Spines and covers printed and fitted
• A4 and A5 folders including a wide variety of ring types - available on order
• Small supply of white binders in stock

Binding - Hard Cover

• Books that we print can be bound with hard covers
• Work is outsourced to a craftsman binder
• This is not a quick "over the counter service"

Binding - Soft Cover

• Books that we print can be bound with soft covers
• Binding in house or outsourced depending on requirements for book
• This is not a quick "over the counter service"

Binding - Spiralastic

• Continuous plastic coil - like a spring
• Robust and modern looking
• Variety of colours red, blue, black, white
• Flexible - won't break with twisting
• Up to 12mm - about 80 sheets (leaves)
• Doesn't come apart
• Clear acetate and card for front & back in stock, also frosted acetate

Binding - Wire

• A very popular type of binding
• New modern colours including silver and bronze available up to 14mm
• Also red, blue,, black, white, green and other colours (up to 14mm)
• 34 holes (3:1) per A4 side produces a "good look" (up to 14mm)
• 20 ring wire binding up to ........ also available - only black or white
• Punched and closed with new powered equipment for accuracy
• Clear acetate and card for front & back in stock, also frosted acetate

Black and White Laser Copying

• A good way to copy photos
• Glossy - New high speed b&w laser copying on digital machines produces finished documents with a glossier finish and better "picture quality" than normal copying
• Not as expensive as it used to be but more expensive than normal copying

Black and White Scanning

Plans and Drawings

• Fast scanning of wide format (up to 914mm wide) plans and drawings to file
• Excellent for CAD applications - raster not vector
• Preferred file format produced = Group 4 Tiff (compressed tiff) Also PDF, Cals
• Can convert files to other types
• The fastest continuous feed b&w scanner in the South Island
• Written to disk, CD, DVD, USB device or emailed (email small number of files)

Documents

• Scanning of A4 and A3 black and white documents - two fast automatic scanners
• A variety of file types tiff, PDF, text files, html, etc.
• Conversion of scanned files to editable text (OCR) - customer correction required
• PDF files for use on Internet
• Also creation of PDF files and printing from PDF incl. colour PDF

Booklets

• The term booklet refers to folded, stapled (and trimmed) documents
• Normally made of not more than 20 sheets of paper
• A5 and A4 normal sizes. Other sizes possible if required

• Laminated covers are an option, gloss, matt, thick and fine laminates available
• Standard sizes economically printed on automatic equipment

Fast Copying - Fast Printing

• Fast copying usually refers to high speed coping machines
• Microfilm Digital Print has an 8000 copy per hour black and white copying machine
• We also operate 50 copy per minute and 80 copy per minute colour mchines.
• Fast Printing. In this area our 80 copy a minute digital colour laser comes to the fore. A Xerox 8000 it is one of the most advanced machines of its type available in the world.

Microfilming

• Sorry we no longer offer any microfilming services. Our company was founded on this process more than 30 years ago and it's where our name comes from. We are well known as "microfilm" in our home city Christchurch so even although the name has nothing to do with digital printing we continue to use it. (In the same way as a person's last name might be "Miller" but they don't mill wheat.}
